Perla Kaliman

PhD in Biochemistry. Researcher associated with the Center for Mind and Brain of the University of California Davis, collaborator of the Center for Healthy Minds of the University of Madison and associate professor at the Open University of Catalonia.

She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Nice (France), at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Barcelona (Spain) and collaborator at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of California at San Diego, where her work was focused on cell signaling, differentiation and metabolism.

She has been an Associate Researcher at the University of Barcelona, ​​August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) and the Biomedical Research Institute of Barcelona (IIBB-CSIC) in Spain, where she directed studies on the effect of nutrition and stress on the molecular pathophysiology of myotonic dystrophy and the epigenetic impact of physical exercise and meditation on inflammation, aging and neurodegeneration.

Currently, he studies the epigenetic impact of meditation on long-term practitioners, in collaboration with the Center for Healthy Minds (Madison, Wisconsin). She is an associate researcher at the Mind and Brain Center of the University of California-Davis, collaborates in the Shamatha Project and is an Associate Professor at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC).
